Dove. The well known hair and soap product. But recently known as the Campaign for Real Beauty. I personally think it's great to see such a big company think about their consumers in such a caring way. This program changes young girls lives. It teaches them lessons of self esteem which is what makes the difference between life and death for some of them.
On the other side of the silver lining is the Axe Effect Campaign. A campaign which pretty much is telling men that if you use Axe, women will come running after you. It make me laugh when I think that some men actually rely on this stuff to have a social life with women. Then in makes me sick to see the women in the commercial at the feet of men because of a cologne. Women shouldn't have to be put in commercials in such a inappropriate fashion. But the bigger point is that why is it always women running after the man in these commercials? Why not the other way around?

The stupidest thing is that both campaigns are under the same parent company. How can one be wholesome while the other is skimpy? The parent has responsibilities to have both agree on one message to relay to the public. I'd rather them have the same good or bad message then both because then the public wouldn't be confused and have intertwined them together. How can either message be given with the other a distraction next door?

  1. I completely agree with you that having two campaigns, that are completely opposite of each other, under the same parent company will just confuse its message to the public. Unilever should take the responsibility of choosing one direction to go with. However, I don't think that if the parent company has the same messages- but a bad ones- is any better than having conflicting messages.

  2. I absolutely agreee with you. How could a parent company give two completely different messages to the public? I find it so wierd. They should either go one way or another. I just find the dishonesty kinda heartbreaking, cause its giving people two completely different messages. I mean which message is the company truthfull to? Who knows..

Anyones, love this post and your background!
    and you :D
